Microwave Food Hacks that You Must Try

Foam Milk

If you crave for a cappuccino but you don’t have the right coffee maker for the job, you can make foam milk in the microwave. Fill a lidded jar halfway, shake it very well and put it in the microwave for 30 seconds before you can add it to your cup of coffee.

Dry herbs

If you are a fan of herbs and you grow them at home, chances are at some point you will have too many herbs. In this case, you can dry them in the microwave by placing them on a towel and turn the unit on in 30-second increments until the herbs are well dry. Then, you can store them in a sealed container and use them in your recipes. You can also dry citrus peel this way.

Dulce de Leche

If you need dulce de leche, but you are not comfortable with cooking canned food, you can make your own using sweetened condensed milk. Put it in a microwave-safe bowl and cover it, then microwave until it has the smooth caramel flavor and texture that you want.

Fix crystallized honey

If you have a jar of honey that has become crystallized, you can fix it in the microwave by opening the lid and allowing the heat to soften the honey for about 1 minute. Stir the honey very well until the entire jar becomes more fluid.

Make lemons juicier

In case you need lemon juice, you can make lemons and limes softer and easier to squeeze if you put them in the microwave oven for 20 seconds and turn the temperature to medium.
